Knit our Dresses suitable to fit a doll.

Design

All three dresses have a pretty repeat pattern to the skirt and moss stitch borders.

For the Short Sleeved and Sleeveless Dresses, the front, back and sleeves are knitted separately on straight needles and sewn together.  Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline and for the opening at the back.  For the Sleeveless Dress, stitches are picked up to finish off the armhole edges.

For the Pinafore Dress, the front and back are knitted separately and sewn together.  Two buttons are sewn on for the straps.

Sizes

The pattern includes 3 sizes to fit a doll: 41, (46, 51) cms or 16, (18, 20) inches.

Yarn

The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).

The picture shows the outfits knitted using Sirdar Snuggly DK in shades: White (251), Rosy (527), and Biscuit (522).

Tension

22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
