Knit our Dungarees, Pinafore Dress, Top, Hat and Bootees suitable to fit a doll or baby.

Design

For the Dungarees and Pinafore Dress, the front and back are knitted separately and sewn together. There’s a chart to follow for the heart motif which is knitted using the intarsia method and you will need 2 buttons for each garment to fasten the straps.

For the Top,  the front, back and sleeves are knitted separately.  The raglan edges are sewn together and stitches are picked up to complete the neckline and back opening edge which is fastened with 3 press stud fasteners.

A Hat and Bootees are also included.

Sizes

The pattern includes 3 sizes to fit a doll: 33-38, (41-46, 48-56) cms or 13-15, (16-18, 19-22) inches. 

Yarn

The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).

The picture shows the 41-46 cms/16-18 inches size knitted using Rico Baby Classic DK in shade Cream (002), Flamingo (057) and Red (009).

To knit the whole outfit you will need 1 (2, 2) x 50 gram balls of Cream, 1 (2, 2) x 50 gram balls of Pink (Flamingo) and 1 (1, 1) x 50 gram ball of Red

Tension

22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension. 

Needles

Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.

Other requirements

2 buttons for both the Dunagrees and Pinafore Dress

3 press studs (poppers/fasteners) for the Top

Stitch holders

Stitch markers
