Knit our Short Sleeved Dress and Sleeveless Dress suitable to fit a child from birth to 7 years old

Design:

The dresses have a popcorn pattern and a twisted rib stitch border. The front, back and sleeves are knitted separately on straight needles and sewn together. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline and for the opening at the back. For the Sleeveless Dress, stitches are picked up to finish off the armhole edges.

Sizes:
The instructions are for 6 sizes: 0-6 m, 6-12m, 1-2 yrs, 2-3 yrs, 4-5 yrs and 6-7 yrs.
Yarn:

The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply)

The picture shows the 1-2 years size knitted using Rico Baby Classic DK in shade Orchid (052)

Tension:

22 sts and 28 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.

Needles:

Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.

Other requirements:

3 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4) buttons for each dress
