Pattern no. 43 is for two sundresses. The instructions are for 3 sizes of doll: 12, 14-16 and 18 inches or 30, 36-41 and 46 cms.
The dresses are easy to knit with the front and back knitted separately on straight needles and the sides sewn together.
Dress no. 1 has a herringbone pattern which gives a wavy hemline and a garter stitch border to the yoke.
Dress no. 2 has a bobble flower pattern, a moss stitch and picot hemline and a moss stitch border to the yoke.
The pattern uses double-knitting wool. An alternative would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply for international knitters. You will also need sizes 3.25 mm and 4 mm (US size 3 and 6) straight needles and 2 buttons for each dress.
The picture shows the dresses in size 18 inches/46cms knitted using Stylecraft Special DK in shade Plum (1356), Blue (Empire 1829) and White (1001).
